Jennifer Van Deausen has always had a life of fitness. Growing up was filled with horses, ski slopes, swimming, running, and gymnastics. She took her first fitness job at the age of 18 in 1987 at Mariner Square Athletic Club. First working at the front desk, but eventually showing clients how to use the fitness equipment. During college she majored in Nursing and Nutrition. Realizing that Nursing and Nutrition in a hospital setting at the time were not as holistic as she would have hoped she returned to fitness. Working as a fitness therapist in 1993 in Orange County she discovered how rewarding it was to truly help people discover how good they could feel. Her path has taken her through the UCSD Personal Trainer Extension program back in 1996. Then led her through massage therapy school at IPSB in 2000, and finally to Pilates. Jennifer Van Deausen received her STOTT PILATES certification in 2002, and opened up what is now Pegasus Pilates in 2003.

Jeannine is thrilled to be joining the talented team at Pegasus Pilates! Jeannine's lifelong study and practice of dance naturally evolved into a love for both Pilates and Barre workouts. After working for several years in the fitness industry teaching indoor cycling and yoga, as well as working as a personal trainer, Jeannine has found that no other fitness discipline sculpts her body the way Barre does. The pairing of heart-pumping cardio dance movements, with the toning and strengthening principles of Pilates, makes Barre brilliantly effective, and Jeannine's intuitive understanding of both dance and Pilates makes Jeannine a naturally effective Barre instructor. Students are drawn to her classes by her knowledge, experience, dedication and enthusiasm. New students can count on Jeannine's watchful, practiced eye to keep them on track by encouraging them to try new and challenging movements, while also maintaining the integrity of form, keeping everyone safe and utilizing their time in class to the fullest. Experienced students can expect consistently evolving choreography and encouragement as they meet and surpass each new level of personal achievement and growth in class.
